Girls Only: The Secret Comedy of Women

Ok ladies, if you have the opportunity to see this show, make plans immediately! I have never laughed so hard in my entire life. The show takes place at the Garner Galleria Theatre and is a comedy about two women discovering their childhood diaries and the sweet, awkward, embarrassing and heartwarming stories they inspire. Yes, they really use their own childhood stories from their personal diaries. I definitely wish my mom was able to attend the show with me. The show reminded me of a lot of things my mom and I laugh about currently. Sorry dad, you just would not understand.

Hearts of All Ages

This event was hosted by the University of Colorado Hospital and was open to participants of all ages. I was stationed in the kids coral area and helped the children make valentines for their parents. Thunder, the mascot for the Denver Broncos, also came to the event. The set-up was rather extensive and they had tons of children’s activities ranging from face painting to a balloon artist. All of the proceeds from the event will benefit the University of Colorado Hospital’s Cardiac and Vascular Center.

Boys and Girls Hope Fundraiser

In its eighth year, the Shaken, Not Stirred Martini Party is the signature event for the Boys Hope Girls Hope of Colorado Junior Board. Local bars and restaurants sponsor martini stations serving their signature martinis. I attended this event as a celebrity judge in helping choose the award winning martini. The Junior Board did such an amazing job in putting together such a successful event. Around 500-600 people signed up to attend this event!!

Go Red for Women Casting Call

Our Hearts. Our choice. Speak up to save lives. Go Red for Women set up a casting call at Macy’s in Cherry Creek. This casting call brings in real women nationwide to tell their stories of the choices they've made to live a healthy life and improve their well-being. I was able to hear first hand about what happened in these women’s lives and what they have done after the incident. Every woman that came through this casting call has an amazing amount of courage and strength to tell their stories. It is definitely not an easy thing to do but, it will help save lives.

One in Three, Not Me Fundraiser

This was the event that I planned and executed from day one. I wanted to hold an event at Copper Mountain to let others know about what an impact heart disease has on everyone’s lives. The event was held at Endo’s Adreneline CafĂ© with live music by SuCo and John Truscelli. We also had excellent giveaways provided by the Copper Marketing Team, Miller Coors, Dillon Dam Brewery, and the women’s Burton Learn to Ride programs. Thank you to all the contributors and everyone who came to this event. In the end we raised $1000!!

Go Red for Women Ferrari Event - Denver

Maserati, Bently, Ferarri…. Do I have your attention yet? Ferrari of Denver partnered with the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women initiative to celebrate Wear Red Day! For a minimum donation of $25, patrons had the opportunity to test drive these amazing vehicles. Also at the event, were blood pressure checks, vendors, and tasty appetizers. It was great to see the Go Red for Women sticker on the back of these smoking red sports cars.

Fashion Group International - Wear Red Luncheon

This luncheon was an amazing opportunity to learn more about what is currently going on with women and heart disease. The luncheon was at Strings restaurant in Denver and included a panel of experts including a nutritionist and a doctor with Denver Health. Also at the luncheon was a heart attack survivor. It was great to hear her story and how she is coping with her health issues.

The 1st Copper Mountain Wear Red Day

This was definitely an event that touched my life. The RLT team, Ski and Ride School, and Resort Services all supported my coalition for everyone to wear red on February 5th. The Ski and Ride school department all wore red bandannas while they were teaching their lessons. My department looked amazing wearing the red dress pins provided by the American Heart Association. Thank you to Copper Mountain for supporting me in this national movement!

RSN Network Interview

RSN is a national television network that specializes in creating and distributing outdoor content to America's premier resorts, including more than 125 mountain and beach destinations across the country. RSN features local programming designed to provide information pertaining to recreation and entertainment options specific to those resorts. I was privileged to be on the RSN Sunrise show to promote my fundraiser “One in Three, Not Me.” This was an amazing experience to let Summit County know what I am doing as Miss Colorado International and make others aware about heart disease.

Unity Snowboard Warehouse Visit

Unity Snowboards was started in the winter of 1995-1996 by Pete Wurster and Pavel Krikava. Pete and Pavel learned how to make boards from the original snowboard builder in Colorado, Steve Link of Summit Snowboards. They started Unity with the idea of building stronger boards designed around riders who ride hard and demand the most from their equipment. It was an amazing experience to see the warehouse and how they manufacture snowboard here in Summit County. A big thank you for the t-shirts and stickers donated for the “One in Three, Not Me” Fundrasier.
